The album Ayvu by the band Tierra Adentro, distributed by Random Sounds, receives a nomination in the Best Folk Album category at the 2023 Latin Grammys.
Ayvu is an album completely in the Guaraní language, the native language and the official language of Paraguay. This 14-song album was released in May 2023 by the independent record label IDS Music from Paraguay, in collaboration with the record label Hit Music 21.
The record includes collaborations with artists from all over Latin America: Eugenia León, Monsieur Periné, Aymée Nuviola, Rosalía León, Gepe, Rafael “Pollo” Brito, Alejandro Zavala, Gaby Moreno, Mireya, Pablo Benegas and Yeyssi Conterno.
The album was produced entirely by Carlos Escalona Cruz, with co-productions on some songs by Francisco Silva, Rodrigo Pereira, Vicente Castillo Romero, José Luis Cornejo, Rosalía León and Santiago Pietro.
Recall that this is Tierra Adentro's second nomination for the Latin GRAMMYs. In 2020, they had also been nominated in the Best Folk Album category, for their album Aguije.
At the 2022 Latin GRAMMYs, artist Berta Rojas and the independent record label On Music Recordings won the first Latin GRAMMY distributed by Random Sounds and the first in Paraguay, with her album Legado.
